This would take a fair bit of planning, I realized very early on in my quest to turn an admittedly rather small walk-in closet into an enchanted forest. I did try to convince my husband that the spacious walk-in off our primary bedroom would be a much more magical option, but sadly, he didn't agree.
So, where to begin? Without the requisite skills to actually hand paint a wall mural, I decided I would have to look at wallpapering, at least the back wall. I mean, how much could that cost, right? So I started scouring online shops to find the perfect backdrop. Google unearthed many wondrous options to choose from, but I was looking for something a little different. A little bit... cheaper - because I quickly realized that finding a mural to fill a wall measuring 8 feet by 9 feet tall might be a deal-breaker if the wallcovering ate up my entire project budget.
But serendipity - or fairy magic - was on my side. Around that same time I happened upon a Facebook group that uses a unique and very thrifty technique to create a specialized ambiance for very little money. Indoors and out, these creative souls have managed to magically transform their ugly or boring spaces into something entirely different - and for very little money, often for less than $50.
But alas, that will have to wait until the next post.
